The Private Duty/Bedside Nurse provides nursing services to clients as ordered by their physician. This includes assessing patient health problems, administering nursing care to ill, disabled, convalescent, or injured patients, maintaining vital medical records, implementing nursing care plans, advising patients on health maintenance, and providing guidance about preventative services, such as health screenings and medications.

- Conduct physical exams to assess clients' health needs and problems
- Implement physicians' orders, perform treatments, start IVs, administer medications, and interpret special tests
- Administer direct care to injured, disabled, ill, or convalescent clients
- Review and maintain medical records
- Implement and develop nursing care plans
- Counsel patients and family members on disease prevention and health maintenance
- Order and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions
- Supervise the work of licensed practical nurses, nursing aides, and assistants
- Educate patients about their medical conditions and treatment plans
- Maintain a safe, hygienic working environment
- Prepare rooms and medical equipment and decontaminate instruments
- Provide emotional and psychological support
- Determine the stability and predictability of a client's condition
- Conduct monitoring visits to assess clients' conditions, progress, and teaching needs, and to re-evaluate the medication and nursing needs and services provided by the caregiving staff
- Initiate the service plan in conjunction with the client and/or the client's representative and make necessary revisions as the client's status and needs change
- Initiate appropriate nursing procedures
- Complete, maintain, and submit accurate and relevant notes regarding client's condition and care given
- Record pain/symptoms management changes/outcomes as appropriate
- Prepare clinical notes and update the primary physician when necessary regarding any changes in client's condition
- Obtain written physician or practitioner orders and file in client's records
- Delegate tasks of nursing to caregivers as indicated in the client's service plan
- Current licensed Oregon Registered Nurse in good standing with the Oregon State Board of Nursing
- Ability to communicate comfortably and confidently both in writing and verbally using a variety of tools
- Complete and maintain Oregon State Board of Nursing delegation certification as required by EQC policy
- Detailed knowledge of state rules and regulations related to nursing services
- A positive professional disposition with the ability to maintain composure under pressure
- Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
- Current valid driver's license
- Proficient in the use of computer programs, including word processing and email
- Willingness to learn new software and technological tools
- Follow best practices in the execution of all duties
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs
