Skilled Nursing Care in the Comfort of Your Own Home
When a loved one needs medical procedures every day—like insulin shots, tube feedings, catheter care, or wound dressings—families are often told that moving into a nursing facility is their only choice. Under our OHA Comprehensive License (#15-2310), EQC Home Care gives your family a safe way to stay at home by combining Registered Nurse visits with Oregon RN Delegation.
Direct Registered Nurse (RN) Services at Home (OAR 333-536-0080)
- Full Nurse Health Checkups & Care Plans: Head-to-toe nursing checkups, fall-risk checks, memory evaluations, and custom care plans after a surgery, stroke, or hospital stay.
- Wound & Ostomy Bag Care: Clean and sterile bandage changes, pressure sore care, surgical incision checks, and colostomy/ileostomy care.
- Catheter & Feeding Tube Care: Foley and suprapubic catheter care, plus G-tube and PEG feeding tube checks and maintenance.
- Direct Nurse Injections & Chronic Care Monitoring: Direct RN administration of ordered injections and ongoing nursing support for clients with stable and predictable chronic conditions such as Heart Failure (CHF), COPD, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, and dementia.
What Is Oregon RN Delegation? (And How It Saves Your Family Money)
Under Oregon State Board of Nursing rules (OAR 851-047), an EQC Registered Nurse can formally teach, test, and authorize a specific EQC caregiver to perform medical tasks for a client whose health condition is stable and predictable. Instead of paying for 24/7 private-duty nurse rates, your family gets safe daily medical care from a specially trained EQC caregiver backed by our RN team.
- Medical Tasks Our Nurses Can Delegate to Your Caregiver:
- Subcutaneous (Under-the-Skin) Shots: Daily insulin injections (pens or syringes), blood-sugar finger-stick checks, and subcutaneous blood-thinner shots.
- Tube Feedings (Enteral Nutrition): Giving liquid nutrition, water flushes, and crushed/liquid medicines through a G-tube or J-tube.
- Catheter & Ostomy Care: Routine catheter care, emptying/changing ostomy bags, and non-sterile wound care.
- Breathing Treatments: Nebulizer treatments and home oxygen safety checks.
- Our 4-Step Nursing Safety Promise (OAR 851-047):
- Nurse Health Evaluation: Our RN examines your loved one in person to confirm their condition is stable and predictable and safe for delegation at home.
- One-on-One Caregiver Teaching: Our RN teaches your assigned caregiver step-by-step using your loved one’s exact medical supplies and written safety rules.
- Hands-On Skill Test: The caregiver must prove 100% accuracy right in front of the Registered Nurse before receiving written permission to perform the task.
- Regular Nurse Re-Evaluations: Our RN visits within EQC’s 90-day review schedule, and sooner whenever needed, to check on your loved one’s health and supervise caregiver technique. Oregon limits initial delegation authorization to 90 days; later reauthorization may extend up to 180 days, based on the RN’s assessment and required evaluation.
